Making Finance Your Friend

Presented By: Stefanie Pontlitz Tired of asking your finance department every question under the sun when completing a grant? Do you want to understand what your funders are looking for? Looking to advance your career in the non-profit community? Then learn how to make finance your friend! Throughout the presentation, members will learn how to respond to donors’ common financial myths about non-profits. Ensure their non-profit is following all financial rules and regulations as it relates to fundraising. Explain the difference between Administrative, Program and Fundraising costs and how to calculate them when a grant requires it. Understand the basics of Indirect vs Direct Costs, and take an in-depth dive into the IRS Form 990. Stefanie Pontlitz is the VP of Development for Youth and Family Alternatives since March 2018, a diverse children and family services organization with community relationships in 8 Florida counties. Stefanie was born and raised in Pasco County and graduated Cum Laude from Florida State University. After a short period in the nonprofit sector, Stefanie spend 5 years as a Financial Advisor and another 3 as a Team Lead for Chase Financial Services, before returning to her roots in nonprofit. Stefanie spent 6 years with the United Way of Pasco County, leaving her tenure as the Chief Operating Officer. Stefanie is married to Derek Pontlitz, have 2 fur babies and a niece they adore. Currently, Stefanie is the President of Trinity Rotary, Treasurer for Association of Fundraising Professionals, Advisory Board Member for Suncoast Credit Union, Past President of Leadership Pasco, Past President of Junior Service League, Past President of the West Pasco Young Professionals Group and sits on various committees throughout the county and Tampa Bay area. **Register early!
